How can you become an appealing employer in 2023? Of course, job prospects and remuneration is pivotal. Still, as per research, 60% of employees would love to recommend your organization as an excellent place to work if the employer supports his resources’ health and wellbeing.

If you want your workplace to remain healthy, it will be great to focus on employees’ health, as their health is directly related to engagement and productivity. In addition, healthy employees result in fewer absentees and a greater retention rate.

Below are some tips for supporting your employees to keep them mentally and physically fit.

Come up with a flexible work approach

The mindset of most of the employees has changed during this pandemic. Hybrid working has become more common, and emphasis has shifted from only salary benefits to overall support from the company.

If your business allows, develop a hybrid model in which some employees work from the office and others from home. It will provide ultimate flexibility to the resources. Although not all jobs are meant for hybrid working, go for it to ensure work-life balance. In addition, it will provide an environment to the employees which is best suited for their health and wellness.

Give your staff flexibility to work as per their suitable working hours, which allows them to find a schedule as per their choice. Flexible working, working from home, and remote-access benefits are all appealing factors for the employees, especially for pregnant women, parents, or any other staff.

Offer some personalized support

Fulfilling the personalized need of the employees can make them feel happy about the company. Connect employees with a specialist for problems like menopause or fertility issues which can take care of their wellbeing. It will help you bridge the gap between traditional healthcare services and employee assistance programs in which only generalized support was provided, often unused.

Benefits provided to employees should be easy to use and confidential so that employees can take maximum advantage. You can develop any digital platform for employees to talk with their healthcare specialists without embarrassment.

Also, such digital support should be made available day or night; hence employees can get in touch with a human at their convenience, which makes a difference. Moreover, according to a survey, around 18 million employees suffer from stress, depression, and anxiety globally. Providing proper treatment to such issues can reduce absenteeism in the companies.

Such programs are a win-win solution for both employers and employees. But, most important aspect is such support should be inclusive of all ages, gender, race, or sexual orientation, and employees should be able to access it anytime and from anywhere.

Voluntary benefits

This is another benefit on which employers should focus on in 2023. These are the customized benefits which an employee can opt for like pet insurance, theft protection, legal services etc. Providing such benefits to the employees will not add any increasing cost in your business, but can make the resources completely satisfied with the company. If you are unsure which benefit will be better for the employees you can ask the question to your employees. That way they will get a feeling of being heard and can avail the benefits they want.

Online Tools

Another trend in 2023 is enhanced use of technology in companies for employees’ benefits. With the increase in remote working, employers must ensure that their resources are able to make efficient use of online tools to manage everything from anywhere. This may include mobile apps, online portals, and automated systems. Speak with your department to know which tool will be best for your employees. You can also get involved in periodic meeting with team leaders to check whether your employees are able to take maximum advantage of the tools or want to opt for different one.

Conducting support programs is a future investment

As a business owner, staying on top of the employee benefits plan in 2023 will require your time and efforts. But if you keep your employees needs on priority, you can maintain a positive and supportive environment in your office and this will help you to retain you top performing employees. Hence you must focus on the health and other needs of the employees and ask them about this to make them feel that they are the part of an employee-oriented company.
